I HAVE
BEEN OBSESSED WITH MAC SINCE I DISCOVERED THEIR COUNTER IN MY MACY'S STORE IN
WHEN I FOUND
THE MAKEUP BOARDS & THAT THERE WERE OTHERS OUT THERE LIKE ME, IT WAS A VERY
HAPPY DAY!
I BEGAN TO
COLLECT COMBINATIONS FOR MAC E/S TO INSPIRE MYSELF. JANUARY 2006, I DECIDED IT WAS TIME TO PUT IT ALL INTO ONE
EASILY ACCESSIBLE PLACE, SO WHEN I WANTED TO TRY SOMETHING WITH ELECTRIC EEL, I
COULD GET AN IDEA OF WHAT TO PAIR IT WITH.
FOUR
MONTHS LATER, AS I CONTINUED TO FIND LISTS THAT I HAD PRINTED OUT OR FOLDERS ON
MY COMPUTER WITH MAC E/S COMBINATIONS IN THEM, I DECIDED THAT MY LISTS, OF YOUR
WORK, MIGHT BE HELPFUL TO OTHERS, TOO. I PUT THE IDEA OUT THERE & "donthate" GRACIOUSLY AGREED TO GIVE THE LIST A HOME WHERE EVERYONE
COULD VIEW IT.

1. Fairylite Pigment
on brow bone, White Frost on center of lid w/ Accent Red Pigment on the rest of
the lid, Macroviolet Fluidline in crease (with 219 brush) w/ Accent Red Pigment
w/ 242 brush, Macroviolet Fluidline to
line upper lashes, Accent Red Pigment to line lower lashes. Premeditated CCB
& Star Iridescent Powder on cheeks.
2. Vanilla on brow
bone, Fairylite Pigment on inner lid, Sketch on outer lid, Macroviolet

over as a smoky base (basically, just create a full-on smoky eye w/ Graphito),
then buff a little Accent Red over the center of lid for added dimension. You
could add some Carbon or Beauty Marked in the outer > if you want.

1.Amber Lights on the
inner half/corner of your lid & Cranberry on the outer. Put that with
either a cooler taupe brown like Satin Taupe in the crease or a warm golden
brown (my preference)& blend Amber Lights & Cranberry up into it. Line
with Black OR Brown depending on if you want a more defined or smokier look.
Stunning either way!
2. Amber Lights:
Looks wonderful worn as a lid color with Cranberry in the crease for
"sunset" eyes or Mulch for warm "exotic" sultry eyes.

23. I'm in the habit
of doing a reverse shadow on the eyes...normally I would take Amber Lights lash
line to brow well blended & then in the inner corner draw a straight line
(with Trax for example) from the inner point of the eye to the brow & blend
outwards...it creates this smoky contoured intense look...it really defines the
eyes & if you use subtle colors-its a nice effect too.
24. Amber Lights all
over lid with Golden Olive pigment in the crease (inner half) & Greensmoke
in the outer half of crease lined with Club.
25. Cranberry w/
Amber Lights on washed on top. Sounds crazy, but soo pretty.
26. Amber Lights:

over the eye just past the crease, Stila Starlight from where you left off with
the AL to the brow, then line heavily with Powersurge to line upper & lower
including the rim. This is what makes my eyes pop & brings out all the
gold....then if you have Plastique l/s...this totally completes this look.
44. For brown or
hazel eyes, try Amber Lights, Soba, Mylar & Corduroy.

blend the black & the bronze so you can’t really see either one on its own.
Line eyes with Smolder pencil first...top & bottom, Mylar all over from
lash line to brow bone, Beauty Marked applied it to the lid. Start really
slowly & keep building & blending until the desired effect is reached
(you can definitely vary this if you want & go really light or really
dramatic). Apply Mulch in the crease kind of heavy. Take a big fluffy brush
& blend & blend, & blend, & blend until everything is super
blurred. Top it off with another dose of Mylar on the brow bone & a light
lining again with Smolder.

28. The three colors
she used were Mylar, Mulch & Beauty Marked. Don’t laugh! I’m telling you it
works. The trick is to blend the black & the bronze so you can’t really see
either one on its own. She lined my eyes with Smolder pencil first. She applied
Mylar all over from lash line to brow bone as kind of a base. Then she took
Beauty Marked & applied it to the lid. She started really slowly & kept
building & blending until the desired effect was reached (you can
definitely vary this if you want & go really light or really dramatic).
Next she took Mulch & applied it in the crease kind of heavy. Then she took
a big fluffy brush & blended & blended, & blended, & blended
until everything was super blurred. She topped it off with another dose of
Mylar on the brow bone & a light lining again with Smolder.

10. Magrittes Paint
all over as base & wash Retrospeck on inner 1/2 of eye, Bitter on outer 1/2
with Black Tied wet to line.
11. Honesty/Mulch,
Honey Lust/Bronze, Mulch/Black Tied, Mulch/Tempting.I used MAC Cream Colour
Base in Dusk for a base. Then I packed on the first color mentioned onto the
lid area with MAC brush #213. I then applied the second color mentioned onto
the outer 1/3 of the eye area with MAC brush #224. I use the 224 brush to blend
the colors together where they meet, & use a windshield-wiper motion to
sweep the shadow back & forth along & the crease to blend it, winging
it out slightly at the outer corners yet following along my natural eye shape.
For some of them (especially in the last pic), I used a small brush like MAC
#228 & swept the darker color along the lower lash line, then blended it
with a q-tip or my finger. I lined with black liner & toppped off with
black mascara. You could even do this look with just one e/s color, but
blending is key no matter how you do it!

highlight. Sometimes I use a little Carbon to smoke out the crease.

lid fading up to Brill, Vex on the inner lid fading to the Greensmoke on the

5. I started with a
Style-styli flat pencil in Madrid, the bright metallic blue one, all around the
eyes, including on lower rim. I smudged it, so it wasn't too harsh. Aquadisiac
on lids, more heavy towards outer corner. A little bit in inner corner as well.
Electric Eel on upper lids between the liner & Aquadisiac to blend, Surreal in crease,
followed by Humid for a touch of green, Brill on brow bone & to blend the
other colors.

Base in Dusk for a base. Then I packed on the first color mentioned onto the
lid area with MAC brush #213. I then applied the second color mentioned onto
the outer 1/3 of the eye area with MAC brush #224. I use the 224 brush to blend
the colors together where they meet, & use a windshield-wiper motion to
sweep the shadow back & forth along & the crease to blend it, winging
it out slightly at the outer corners yet following along my natural eye shape.
For some of them (especially in the last pic), I used a small brush like MAC
#228 & swept the darker color along the lower lash line, then blended it
with a q-tip or my finger. I lined with black liner & toppped off with
black mascara. You could even do this look with just one e/s color, but
blending is key no matter how you do it!

38. I usually always
use Cubic with a touch of bronzer on my cheeks.Half & Half lipstick. Bare
Camvas as base, Sushi Flower from lash to just above crease, Paradisco blended
into inner 1/3, Bronze wet to line upper & lower, then gone over with dry
Bronze for a smoky look, Shroom on brow bone. I really like the look. I have
blue-green eyes, & it really brings them out!
39. Paradisco with:
Trax - from lash line to crease or Bronze or Mulch - on crease.
40. Working with a
stiff bristle shading brush, apply a reddish-brown cream eye shadow to the lid
starting at the lash line & blending up into the crease. Press Bronze over
the cream color to set it. To brighten the eye apply Cranberry over the Bronze.
(The brown will help to anchor the brightness of the Cranberry.) Carry the
Cranberry color up & above the mid-crease point. Then press this color into
the lower lash line with an angled liner brush. Make this line thinner at the
inner corner of the eye, thicker toward the outer edge. Line the inside of the
lower lash line with a plumy brown eyeliner pencil. Go over this line with the
same Bronze you used on your lid. This will blend the pencil & create a
smoky look. Then apply a little more of the bronze powder to the outer corner
of eyelid & blend well. Highlight the eye with the original peach lid color
by dusting a small amount on the inner corner of the eyelid & the inner
half of the bottom lash line. As a final touch, line the outer half of your
bottom lashes with a black eyeliner & softly smudge the color. On the outer
half of the upper lash line, draw a moderately thick line with the black pencil
& use a shading brush to blend this color up & out for a hazy,
"bad girl" effect. To apply false eyelashes, cut the strips to the
exact length of your eye. Apply a small amount of glue & use your fingers
to press the strip into your lashes. Wait for the glue to dry & then go
over the lash line with a black eye shadow to blend the lashes & create a
little more drama.

pencil & create a smoky look. Then apply a little more of the bronze powder
to the outer corner of eyelid & blend well. Ricepaper on brow bone.
As a final touch,
line the outer half of your bottom lashes with a black eyeliner & softly
smudge the color. On the outer half of the upper lash line, draw a moderately
thick line with the black pencil & use a shading brush to blend this color

triangle at the outer corner of the upper lid. Use a blending brush to work the
Smolder until it is a soft, smoky >. Extend this color beyond the corner of
the eye & up into the crease. Go over the liner color on the outside of the
lid w/ Bronze to set it. Use Pink Bronze Pigment on the inner corner of the
lid, under the outer ½ of the brow & along the lower lash line to
highlight. Orange on the upper brow bone & under the lower lash line. Blend
well.

54. The trick is to
blend the black & the bronze so you can’t really see either one on its own.
Line eyes with Smolder pencil first...top & bottom, Mylar all over from

slowly & keep building & blending until the desired effect is reached
(you can definitely vary this if you want & go really light or really
dramatic). Apply Mulch in the crease kind of heavy. Take a big fluffy brush
& blend & blend, & blend, & blend until everything is super
blurred. Top it off with another dose of Mylar on the brow bone & a light
lining again with Smolder.

1. Chartru as a base
up to my crease. Then I used Golden Olive pigment in a > in the crease.
Forest green color as a liner & Vex as a blender/highlight.
2. An MA w/really
light green eyes, dark hair, probably an NC30? & she used Brule as a wash,
Chartru near the lash line & outer lid, Mythology in the crease, it was
AMAZING! She recreated the look on me but used Vanilla e/s as a base on me
(since I am lighter, NC20) It was very striking, but use Mythology sparingly
& blend well.
3. I use Mauvism alot
with Chartru. I do a wash of Chartru up to the crease, blend in Mauvism up to
the brow. Then I line the bottom set of lashes with a light green pencil.
4. Chartu on my lids,
Tarnish to line, Fiction in the crease & Ricepaper on the brow bone.
5. Chartru Paint all
over my lid & over the crease, then use Velvet Moss on the outter corner
& towards my brow in a slight cat eye, & line the lower lid w/it too.

2. Go for a
smoldering effect with the GLEAM look. To begin, highlight your brow bone with
Sugarwhite using brush #213. Pat Pushup Pink over your eyelids with brush #236
as a base. Blend Slated through the outer portion of your crease with brush
#114 & sweep it along your lower lash lines as well for a smoky effect.
Trace your lower lashes with Sagegrass & line the inner rim with Tealo. Add
a subtle shimmer to your cheekbones with Norwegion Wood using brush #116. Plum
Lip Pencil & fill in with Gleam Lipstick.

2. My favorite smoky
eye begins & ends with Club. First I apply a very light layer lid to brow,
then Carbon on the lid & crease, a slightly shimmery beige on the brow
bone, then Club applied heavily on the lid & crease. Line with Carbon, wet,
upper & lower lash line.
3. LIPS: Bronze CCB
all over, Fabulush CCB in centers. Hush to highlight cupids bow & bottom
lower lip. (fingers used)
FACE: random
foundation, translucent powder with 187, buffed out with kabuki brush. Bronze
CCB & Dusk CCB with 187 on cheeks, forehead, nose, chin. Hush to highlight,
massaged in with fingers.
EYES: Hush with 242.
Gesso with 242. Club & Print in crease, defined with my contour brush. Hush

Using a stiff, angled brush, line with Sketch eye shadow. Use Shroom eye shadow
to highlight.
18. Vellum as a wash,
Vex on the lid, Patina in crease outer corner & lined with Club or Stroke
of Midnight.
19. Amber Lights all
over lid with Golden Olive pigment in the crease(inner half) & Greensmoke

21. Shroom as
all-over base color, the bronze of Texture on her lid & the metallic moss
of Club. Tarnish to line. Strip Down, Frolic & Varneesh. Melba Blush.
First, apply a pale silver/beige shadow all over the entire lid as a base coat.
(This color can also be used to highlight the top of the cheekbone, just under
the eye.) Then, working with a warm bronze shadow, use a blending brush to
sweep the color across the eyelid & up into the crease. Start the color
lightly & build the intensity slowly. Using a black eye gloss, Nadine used
a brush to gently push this color into the lid. Keep the color more
concentrated & wet looking toward the lash line & a bit more subtle
& sheer toward the crease. To set the gloss & add a little sizzle to
the look, Nadine pressed a shimmering metallic green shadow over the gloss
& used a liner brush to also press this color into the lower lash line.
It’s important to press the color & not sweep it. If you sweep you’ll end
up with a lot of shadow fallout. With a green/black eyeliner pencil line the
inside of both the top & bottom lashes. Go back over the bottom lashes
running the pencil along the outer edge. Make sure to blend & slightly
smudge this color. According to Nadine, "The key to a smoky look is all in
the blending. There should be no hard lines, thus the name ‘smoky’!"

Coco Beach wet & smudge a bit.
2. Gleam eye shadow
on lids. Layer to get more colour if desired. Apply Coco Beach Pigment in the
crease & outer corner. Blend. Add Mulch eye shadow to increase intensity as
much as needed. Line with Coco Beach Pigment mixed & Nylon eye shadow to
highlight.
3. Cranberry on the
inner half of the lid & CocoBeach in the crease & outer half of the
lid.
4. Vanilla Pigment +

wear Cranberry but I love it!) or as a crease color with Jest all over the lid
& Tilt in the outer thirds with black or Violet liner, Seedy pearl as

49. Too Faced Base,

51. Canton Candy
Paint, Creme De Violet on inner corner, Parfait Amour on outer corner &
crease, a little bit of Cranberry in crease, Phloof! to highlight, Lilacky for
liner along with Tealo in inner rim of eye & outer corners of eye.
52. Working with a
stiff bristle shading brush, apply a reddish-brown cream eye shadow to the lid
starting at the lash line & blending up into the crease. Press Bronze over
the cream color to set it. To brighten the eye apply Cranberry over the Bronze.
(The brown will help to anchor the brightness of the Cranberry.) Carry the
Cranberry color up & above the mid-crease point. Then press this color into
the lower lash line with an angled liner brush. Make this line thinner at the
inner corner of the eye, thicker toward the outer edge. Line the inside of the
lower lash line with a plumy brown eyeliner pencil. Go over this line with the
same Bronze you used on your lid. This will blend the pencil & create a
smoky look. Then apply a little more of the bronze powder to the outer corner
of eyelid & blend well. Highlight the eye with the original peach lid color
by dusting a small amount on the inner corner of the eyelid & the inner
half of the bottom lash line. As a final touch, line the outer half of your
bottom lashes with a black eyeliner & softly smudge the color. On the outer
half of the upper lash line, draw a moderately thick line with the black pencil
& use a shading brush to blend this color up & out for a hazy,
"bad girl" effect. To apply false eyelashes, cut the strips to the
exact length of your eye. Apply a small amount of glue & use your fingers
to press the strip into your lashes. Wait for the glue to dry *then go over the
lash line with a black eye shadow to blend the lashes & create a little
more drama.

74. Goldmine with
Greensmoke or Cranberry in the crease.
75. Working with a
stiff bristle shading brush, apply a reddish-brown cream eye shadow to the lid
starting at the lash line & blending up into the crease. Press Bronze over
the CCB to set it. Apply Cranberry over the Bronze. Carry the Cranberry up &
above the mid-crease point & to line. Line the inside of the lower lash
line with Prunella. Go over this line with the Bronze.This will blend the
pencil & create a smoky look. Then apply a little more of the bronze powder
to the outer corner of eyelid & blend well. Ricepaper on brow bone.
As a final touch,
line the outer half of your bottom lashes with a black eyeliner & softly
smudge the color. On the outer half of the upper lash line, draw a moderately
thick line with the black pencil & use a shading brush to blend this color
up & out for a hazy, "bad girl" effect.

1. Smoky Eyes: I use
the moisture from Dusk CCB to coat my #266 so that it picks up color better--it's
like water, but it is an actual shade that I use, & it
isn't...well...watery like water. lol Then, I dip this into some Dark Soul. It
is absolutely stunning, charcoal black/grey w/ lots of metallic shimmer. It is
the most impressive for that smudgey smoky look. Flick off excess pigment
otherwise it will get all over your face.I line the bottoms of my eyes w/ this,
& the result is a creamy textured paste-like color that goes on perfectly.I
perfect it & fill in & shade around w/ PX pencil in 'metal blue'. Set
any remaining moisture from the cream w/ a highlight shadow (Lorac Persuasion).
2. Tan Pigment wash,
Dark Soul Pigment crease, black as liner & smudge the be-jezuz out of it.
Vanilla Pigment to highlight brow bone, inner eye corner & dab in center of
eye lids.

lightly over the whole lid, wet a slanted brush & use it to line upper lash
line w/ Dark Soul. (When it's wet, it's an amazing color!- like a metalic
graphite!) Use a dry crease brush to apply Dark Soul to the crease & outer
corner & blend very well to bring the Dark Soul down over the lid. Heaviest
in the crease, then very gradually blended towards the lash line so you still
see Digit. Mauvism Paint mixed w/ Frost Pigment, to make a very pale lavender
frosty cream shadow. Use that on the upper brow bones.
5. Blue Brown Pigment
on the lid over Sea Me s/s, Dark Soul in crease, Vanilla Pigment to highlight.
6. Flammable Paint
from lash line to crease, Green Brown Pigment on center of lid (wet), Blue

(leaving thin line next to the lashes), to crease, outer edges, lower lash
line, & more lightly on inner corners, & then add De Menthe to upper
lash line, over Satin Taupe on the inner corners (this makes it look a really
beautiful & metallic soft green & it tones down how the bright green
would be on its own there, which is good for when you need to do the subtle
colorful look), & to the inner edge of the lower lash line. Then I applied
brown eyeliner pencil to the lower lash line (avoiding the inner part of it
where I applied De Menthe). It's a really stunning look (tried it for the first
time today) & really makes the eyes sparkle. Or the same technique but w/
Parfait Amour.

2. Nars AAE-The satin
finish side is gorgeous to use as a hiliter on skin any that is NC25 & up
most people wouldnt think to use the SATIN finish side there. If you like the
look of a glossy eye but dont want to bother touching up all night, I find that
if I apply the satin side to the lid, the shimmer side to the brow bone, inner
corner of eye & along the bottom lashes w/ a STIFF FLAT BRUSH & then
use a small spray bottle that "mists" nicely to spray water over the
shadows the pigments flatten & become 4-5 times as shimmery & end up
looking more like gloss than shimmer. This tip also works w/ any metallic
shadows. -My faveorite neutral eye is: Satin finish on lid to just above
crease, & around eyes, shimmer side on brow bone lightly. I then take Teddy
Eye Kohl from MAC & smudge the liner into the top lash line. I use an angle
brush to press a dark brown shadow over the teddy liner to set & create a
smoky line (Embark from MAC). Curl lashes, tons of mascara. I pair this w/ a
bronzy semi matte blush or bronzer (Laguna from NARS) & a hint of pink or
golden pink blush on the apple of the cheek (Orgasm) I then line lips w/
stripdown liner from MAC & apply Belle Du Jour lipstick to lips making sure
to blend liner until its undetectable. Apply a creamy beige gloss to center of
lips (

FASCINATING
EYE KOHL
1. Fascinating Kohl
is an excellent eyeshadow base! I've always had trouble getting some of the lighter
MAC frosts like Tilt & Surreal to show up, so I tried using Fascinating
underneath (I draw the white pencil on my finger, then apply it on the lid). It
made those shades look as vibrant on as they are in the pans!I think this tip
was on the MAC site a while ago, but I'm here to testify that this technique
really does work!
FAST
COLOUR ROSE (UNKNOWN-LE)
1. Fast Colour Rose
on lid w/ 252, Sushi Flower fading into Stencil, fading into Rule in the crease
w/ 213, Vanilla on brow bone w/ 213, Flammable Paint to line. Fleur Power
Blush.
FELT
BLUE (VELUXE-LE)
1. Wash of White
Frost, Print, & did a heavy line around the eye, which I then smudged
upward toward the crease, just blending it out as I went. I put Electra lightly
on top of that & a little heavier at the inner eye. Lined the eyelid w/
Black Tied. This alone would have been a great smoky eye, especially if I would
have gone a little heavier, but I used Felt Blue & put it on the outer eye
& blended into the greys.
2. Felt Blue on the
lid w/ Silly Goose (d/c) in the crease. Use windshield wiper motion to blend
the two colors. Line w/ Black Tied.
3. Caring Coral on
the lid into the crease w/ brush #224 Felt Blue on the top & bottom lash
lines w/ brush#266
4. Surreal w/ Violet
Pigment & Parfait Amour in crease & Felt Blue on outer corner.
FEMME
NOIR (MATTE)
1. Goldmine w/Velvet
Moss & Femme Noir.
2. Chartu Paint from
lash line to crease, Silly Goose lightly over Chartu, Velvet Moss in the
crease, Femme Noir in the >, Nylon from crease to brow & Black Tied to line
under eyes.
3. Fawntastic CCB to
highligpt brow bone, Mink Pink in crease & a little higher, Tempting on
middle of lid, Femme Noir framed the Tempting in a > on inner & outer
corners & to line the upper & lower lash lines. It was blended w/ a
little more Mink Pink on top of outer crease. Lined inner rims w/ Tarnish &
a pale yellow just on inside corners.
4. My MAC guy used
Chartru on me as a wash from lash to brow. Then he used Silly Goose in the
crease, & Femme Noir in the >, & to line. Then, he added some Shroom
in the inner corners, & in the centre of the eyelid.
5. Hush on lid, Romp in crease & Nylon to
highlight then lined w/ Femme Noir used wet!
6. Woodwinked on lid
w/ Femme Noir in the crease & Retrospeck to highlight.
7. Femme Noir &
Greensmoke go nicely w/ Phloof, Gorgeous Gold, Tempting, Humid, Freshwater,
Woodwinked, Summer Neutral & Amber Lights.
8. New Weed f/l as a
base under Lucky Green e/s today. It's HOT! Femme Noir in the outer > &
crease, Nylon to highlight.
9. Shroom on lid,
Sprout in crease, Femme Noir in crease,Vanilla Pigment to highlight, BB Ivy
Shimmer to line, NARS Orgasm Blush, Star SS Powder to highlight cheeks.
10. All That Glitters
